These certificates require a company to go through a thorough vetting process before being issued.

Wildcard SSL certificates can cover a main domain name (www.domain.com) and an unlimited number of subdomains (mail.domain.com, login.domain.com, test.domain.com, etc.).

A warranty for an SSL certificate covers any damage you incur as a result of a data breach or hack that is due to a flaw in the certificate. Warranties vary in value, which means that the higher-value certificates come with more extensive guarantees.
